WESTERN UNDER 19 C HURLING CHAMPIONSHIP SEMI FINAL

Kilrossanty Advance to Western Final

Kilrossanty 2-22 Dungarvan 0-16.

County champions in the corresponding under 18 championship in 2018, Kilrossanty were clear winners over Dungarvan in the Western semi final at the Gold Coast venue last Sunday morning.

The winners led by 1-11 to 0-8 at half time with their goal coming from their number 12 Seamus Fitzgerald. Kilrossanty’s main scorer throughout was Paudie Fitzgerald who scored at will from play and from placed balls and he ended the game with over 0-15 behind his name. Johnny Burke, Tristan Loftus and Joe Duggan kept the scoreboard ticking fir Dungarvan but a second goal by Seamus Fitzgerald on 41 minutes put the game beyond their reach.

Kilrossanty will now play the winners of Ballyduff Upper and Stradbally in the divisional final.

REGRETTED DEATH OF OUR OLDEST CLUBMAN

Dungarvan GAA extends its sincere sympathy to the family of Terry Donnolly, Connolly Row who died today Monday November 4th.

Terry was 95 years old and he was the last surviving member of the Dungarvan Four in a row County senior football champions from 1945 to 1948 where he played at wing back in wins over Stradbally, Kilrossanty and Fenor. Terry followed the fortunes of the Dungarvan club all of his life.

Terry possessed gentlemanly qualities and he was a very popular figure in the club and in the town he loved so well. May he rest in Peace.

CHRISTMAS FUNDRAISING RAFFLE

  Christmas Raffle Tickets are now available from all Committee Members – €2 each or 3 for €5 – also new for this year is a Sellers prize to the value of €100 for anyone who sells tickets or volunteers for an hour for days that we are in Garvey’s (5th, 6th, 7th Dec)T&C’s apply – anyone interested can contact Imelda on 087 9382219.

This is a hugely important fundraiser for the club at this time of year and your continued support is greatly appreciated!

ST. STEPHENS DAY WALK AND RUN

  This year’s St. Stephen’s Day event at the club will be a Kieran Power Multiple Sclerosis benefit and it will begin at 11am. During his playing days Kieran was one of the best footballers ever to come out of Waterford. He played with a number of clubs such as John Mitchels, Clonea, in hurling, Touraneena, Fews as well as Waterford at inter County level and with the Tyrone and Waterford teams during his years in New York. Kieran is a great supporter of all games at the Fraher Field and at other venues around the County and all of our members and those interested to come along from other clubs and the general public are very welcome to participate. Refreshments will be served after the walk and run.

CLUB AGM

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Our 134th Annual General Meeting will be held in the clubhouse on Wednesday December 11th at 7pm. Nominations for Officers, committee, team managers and motions to be sent to the secretary by November 20th.
