U16 HURLING
An Gaelteacht were visitors to Clogherane for the latest round of the u16 Championship last Friday night and they went home to Ring and Old Parish with a substantial win to further their cause. We seem to be very unlucky with injuries and absentees this year, which is a shame for the manager Eamonn Morrissey  who has put Trojan work into this group. On Monday night at Clogherane our u16s gave a spirited performance to win against Ferrybank in a vital match for this group, keep it going lads.

MINOR HURLING
We travelled to Kill last Saturday to play a much fancied Ballygunner in the Quarter final of the County hurling Championship, this was a very good game of hurling with our lads running themselves in to ground to play the very good system  that our management  had in store for the game, from 1 to 19 trough out the year these young men have given their all  for the club with out any success, but yet for 50 minutes of yesterdays game we had Ballygunner in a spin. Well done to all who gave their all and still came up short. A big thanks to John Paul Keoghan, Kevin Daly and Declan Kiely for their efforts during the year. TEAM, T Taylor, G Donnelly, E Fraher, D Keoghan, D Murphy, K Daly, M Mc Donagh, J Duggan, L O Callaghan, C Duggan, M Devine, D Kiely, B Cullinan, S Crotty, J Devine, S Mc Grath, J Kiely, J Power, J Houlihan. QUESTION. How come so many of our  so called supporters can go and watch other clubs play in Fraher Field and not make the short journey to Kill to support OUR MINORS in a County Quarter Final

U13 HURLING
Early on Sunday morning last we were in Fraher Field to play the u13 Western Final v An Gaelteacht. During the league section of this Championship we were comprehensively beaten by them so it was going to be a hard slog for our team to stay in touch. We led at half time and the game was in the balance with 10 minutes to go, such was the effort that our lads put in, but in the end we had to bend the knee and give way to a better team on the day. The progress that this group has made this year has been wonderful ,special mention to Chris Mc Govern for all his work. Well done to all concerned.

SENIOR  HURLING
On Sunday evening we were back in the Fraher Field to take on Ballygunner in round 3 of the senior Championship. In a game of to many unforced errors while in possession ultimately cost us in the end, we put in a good performance against probably the best team in the championship and all is not lost as we have Ballyduff in the Fraher Field next Sunday at 7.00pm.

Dungarvan Gaa Notes 04th Sept

INDOOR HURLING
Last Wednesday we had Mt Sion visit us in the latest round of the Minor Championship, after shipping a heavy defeat against Ballygunner 2 nights previous we feared the worst for our lads as Mt Sion came with a reputation of been a fine team, but with a changed emphasis we started very well and were ahead at half time by 2 points, however Mt Sion switched gear in the 2nd half and came away easy winners in the end as we seemed to run out of steam. However this was a much better performance  by our minors who have 1 more game away to De La Salle in the league section of the Championship
U13 HURLING (picture)
Last Thursday our under 13 team travelled to Bushey Park to play Cappoquin in the Western Semi Final of the Hurling Championship, this was a wonderful display by our lads and the fruits of all them training sessions during the long winter nights are beginning to pay off. We are awaiting confirmation of a date for the Western Final as well as the Opposition.
U16 HURLING
Our u16 team headed to Lismore last Friday to take on the local team in the latest round of their Championship and came away with a very poor defeat and to make matters worse 2 of our lads picked up some serious injuries and will be a big loss for the rest of the championship.Best wishes to Brendan Collins and Wayne O Donnell. It is looking like we might need favours from other teams if we are to qualify for the semi finals of this Championship.
