Community Employment Worker Retires

The club extends its sincere gratitude to retiring Community Employment worker Vincent Tutty for all his work in maintaining our club grounds during his time with us. As a mark of appreciation a presentation was made to Vincent in the clubhouse.Picture shows Club President Paddy Fitzgerald making a presentation to Vincent and also included left to right are Tony Ryan ,club secretary, Geraldine O Keeffe, Community EmploymentSupervisor and John Walsh Community Employment Worker.
COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT WORKER RETIRES

The club extends its sincere gratitude to retiring Community Employment worker Vincent Tutty for his dedicated maintaining of our club grounds.

Club notes – 21/02/2018

CAMOGIE

We are urgently seeking parents of players, underage or adult or past & present GAA/Camogie players/members to come on board to give a helping hand with our club both on and off the pitch. The continuation of our club depends on volunteers. We cater for all underage groups right up to adult players.

Membership for 2018 is as follows: U8 to U18 – €35, Student – €40, Adult – €55, 2 sisters – €60, membership can be paid in full or instalments.
TrainingMinor/Adult training commences Friday 16th February at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Primary School Hall, Mitchell St, runners required, €2 per person. All welcome.

ACADEMY
Dungarvan GAA Club training Academy for boys and girls aged 5/12 years – Football, Hurling Monday Evenings – time 5-6 pm for 8,9 and 10s and 6-7pm for 10,11 and 12 year old in the Sport Centre.The small people will be on Friday at 5-6 pm. Parents and guardians of the children are fundamental to the successful running of the Academy. Each year we invite parents to volunteer to become coaches/helpers in the Academy.All the Coaches and Kids have been very busy with the past few weeks with training and games U13/14 now train in the Sports Centre on Monday at 7pm to 8pm. Our u14s started training back in Clogherane last Sunday in what could only be called unhealthy conditions, hopefully success will follow for all the hard work done by their coach Chris Mc Govern. Our u16s have also started back on the long journey for the season of 2018, this is the time of year where all the hard work is put in for further success down the long road. Our u9s had a very successful trip to Mooncoin where they all played very well in their games against their Kilkenny opponents.
REGISTRATIONEveryone who wants to play for the club has to be a member, membership is now been taken by Mary and Eileen, the closing date for Registration is the 28th OF FEBRUARY. Membership for an Adult player is 50 Euro, Minor 30 Euro, Juvenile 20 Euro for the first child, 15 euro for the second child, and 10 Euro for the 3rd. An adult is 20E and a couple is 30E.

HATSA limited number of hats are now available for Adults from Mary and Eleanor.
FIRST AID
The club is actively looking for volunteers to take first aid courses for 2018, this is a vital roll for all our teams with an emphasis on the juvenile section of our club.

BROKEN HURLEYSAnyone that has a broken hurley can now have it fixed by Ivan Fitzgerald for a small fee.
FUEL FOR TRAININGThe Juvenile Club will be launching its Fuel for Training Campaign shortly. This will be used as a guide for all our juvenile players on what to eat while we are going through what is a very busy season, e.g If you are playing sport regularly for your school or a club, what you eat and drink is important, to help you perform at your best and protect you from fatigue and injury. SYMPATHY

The club extends its sincere sympathy to the O Riordan Family, Shandon St on the recent death of Tom. Tom was  a former club player while his daughter Thea was very much involved with our lady footballers for many years.

NEW MEMBER

Congratulations to Kelly Duggan and Gavin Crotty on the birth of their baby girl last week, the youngest new member in the club. Both the Duggan and Crotty families have long associations with CLCG Dungarbhain.
