Senior Hurlers Advance to Tournament Final JOHN A MURPHY MEMORIAL SENIOR HURLING TOURNAMENT DUNGARVAN 2-22 ST, FINBARRS 2-21 Johnny’s tournament got off to a terrific start at the club grounds this Saturday when the Barrs from Cork and our own side produced a thrilling first semi final. Two goals midway through the first half had the Barrs in control on the scoreboard for most of the game and at one stage they held an 0-8 advantage at 2-18 to 0-16. Playing with the cross wind in the second moiety the Blues gradually came back into the game and goals by Johnny Burke and man of the match Patrick Curran brought this match down to the wire. It was in the final minutes that the home side took the lead for the first time since early on and so go forward to contest the decider between either Midleton or Rathnure. Thanks to the St, Finbarrs club for attending the game in such great numbers and to Tom Mansfield for refereeing the match. Dungarvan Team : Darren Duggan; Luke Egan, Jamie Nagle, Jack Lacey; Gavin Power, Kieran Power, John Curran; Darragh Lyons, Tristan Loftus; Gavin Crotty, Conor Sheridan, Patrick Curran; Luke O Callaghan, Johnny Burke, Kealan Daly.
