Kilmacthomas 1-10 Dungarvan 1-5.
Midfielder John Havens in Possession
Kilmacthomas were worthy winners of our junior ‘B’ County final replay at the Fraher Field on Saturday December 8th. Playing with the wind, we led by 0-4 to 0-0 after 16 minutes but Kilmac dominated the rest of the half to lead by 1-5 to 0-5 at half time.
Fighting For The Dirty Ball We started the second half well but we didn’t take some scoring opportunities from frees and Kilmacthomas gradually built up a winning 1-9 to 0-5 lead. However, the team battled away to the end and their second half efforts were rewarded with a Liam Ryan goal in the 60th minute before time ran out for us. Thus ended a long year for our junior side and one of progress as this was the first time since we entered this grade in 2019 that we won the Western title Well done to all of the players for their efforts, to team manager Michael McLoughlin and selector Mike Barry and our first aid personnel Mary Killigrew and John O Shea.
