DUNGARVAN 1-15 SLIABH GCUA 0-9.
Our intermediate footballers played their first game in this year’s Western IFC in Bushy Park last Saturday afternoon and a strong last quarter ensured a 0-9 win against good opposition.
Gavin Crotty in possession
Playing against the wind, we were level at half time on a score of 0-6 each with five of our scores coming from the booth of Gavin Crotty.
Points after the break by Jack Lacey, Kenny Moore(2) and Michael Kiely helped us to a 0-10 to 0-7 advantage but a fine comeback by Sliabh gCua left just 0-1 the difference at 0-10 to 0-9.

The team’s fitness shone in the final quarter during which we kept our opposition scoreless and we went on to record a tally of 1-5.

Gavin Crotty kicked 0-5, the other point was scored by Ryan Donnolly and in the final play of the game, Gavin provided for Ryan to register the only goal of the game. The final scoreline was unfair to a gallant Sliabh gCua side who contested well throughout.
