Club History
Dungarvan GAA Club was affiliated to the Gaelic Athletic Association on June the 1st 1885 - the first club in Waterford to do so. Through thick and thin, good times and bad, we have stayed the pace, and to-day we are the oldest - and I dare say the best - club in the county. We stand uniquely alone as the only club in the Decies to have won county championships in every grade from Under 12 up to senior in both codes.
It all began in 1890 when we completed the senior hurling and football double and today we proudly head the senior football role of honour with a total of twenty three county titles.
Our Home "Pairc Dungarbhain"
Despite all the championship glories our club attained down through the decades the burning ambition of owning our "own home" remained tantalisingly unfulfilled.
Dungarvan Ladies Football Club
The Dungarvan Ladies Football Club was formed in January 1992 and under the stewardship of Margaret Cunningham, Nicky Sheehan, Paddy Fitzgerald, Pat Flynn and Ger Beresford the foundations were layed for a glorious future.
Dungarvan My Hometown
Dungarvan My Hometown
There's a spot in the Deise
A place dear to me
Where the Comeraghs are keeping
A watch o'er the sea.
And though far I have travelled
Yet wherever I roam
It's the place I love dearest,
The place I call home.
